Epic 'Solo' Exchange
I want to play my dream game and I’m hoping to find the right GM to run it.
In return, I would GM that person’s dream game. The only stipulation I would have is I only genre I run is high fantasy, whether DnD or a similar system... even free form. Anyway if you are the right GM, we will talk about the game I will GM for you as soon as you’d like.
This is what I want for my game:
I want basically good story telling to be the main component of the game. I would prefer fairly frequent combat and regular opportunities for romance.
I want to play the man, a savior type hero, in a game of epic proportions. Which means it should either be a solo or any other players would have to understand that they are sidekicks, romantic interests, etc. Frankly, I doubt other players would want to play in this game; however, I’m open to the idea if you already have someone in mind.
System should be fantasy (similar to DnD), but I’m flexible here as to the exact system. If I’m not familiar with the system you would need to be instructive and perhaps a little patient. I don’t really want to play rules heavy system. DnD, is rules heavy, although it can be lightened easily enough. I do want the combat to be more freeform with dice or other criteria to determine the results. I want the power to design my character and move some stuff around to get the fit I want. I might want to design my character’s class, depending on your preferred system.
I want to cooperate with you so that you enjoy running the game as much as I enjoy playing it.
I post frequently and want a GM who will post at least once per day. Obviously some flexibility is here.
I want a flexible GM who will take more than one solution to a given problem.
I want the world to be on the darker side, with evil or selfish NPC lords ruling the world, giving my character plenty to do. Slavery and other injustices are frequent. But solid bastions of good exist too.
I want to get interesting powers and/or magic items in the course of the game. I’m less interested in raw power, more interested in things that give me options.
I want a way to progress. A leveling system is fine.
I want an involved GM who controls all NPCs, except in circumstances where simple actions are implied. Such as a butler taking a coat or a barmaid taking a coin for a drink...etc.
I want a variety of exotic races used in the game. I would want to play such a race.
I want to be able to do some power abuse in the course of the game. For example, I’ve played some games where the town guard or normally low level goons seem to advance along with the players. Please understand that I want to be capable in most situations. I do not want to be a rat in a maze with a hard line constantly looming.
I do not want victory assured. I want to feel like major victories are earned. And I’m fine with occasional or even frequent setbacks. I’m willing to put up with a lot in the name of good story telling. I just want to be able to keep moving forward and be able to make the world a better place. One step at a time.
I want a variety of deities around and unique powers or abilities provided by each one.
I want many different villains to contend with including ones that can be redeemed and made into allies.
I do like dimensional travel. Probably to be added later in the game...
