FATE - Burn Shift

I don't have much experience with FATE, and no experience with either of these variations on it, but I would love a chance to play in either one.

I've got access to the DFRPG books, but not to Worlds of Fire/Burn Shift.

Getting more Fate practice, but still looking forward to a chance to play one or both of these...

Re: Burn Shift or Dresden Files

I'd be up for maybe playing another Dresden Files game, but me and Fate don't get along very well with running.

Re: Burn Shift or Dresden Files

Well, that makes 2 players looking for a DF GM.

I'm planning to run a DF game eventually, but I want to experience playing it a bit before I try my hand at GMing.

Re: Burn Shift or Dresden Files

I, too, would love to play a Dresden Files game and just got caught up in the series.

I admit that I don't know, or own FATE but I'd be willing to learn if there's a willing GM.

Re: Burn Shift or Dresden Files

Fate Core is free, and pretty easy to learn and pick up the rules.  The main thing about it is that it uses a lot of storytelling/creative writing (which lends itself well to pbp, imo).

Dresden Files RPG has a lot of tweaks from Fate core, though, so you'd probably need to get a copy of it (Your Story is the only book you'd need) to be able to play, unless you want a pure mortal character.

Well, now that makes 3 players for DFRPG, if any GMs are interested in picking it up.

*weekly bump*

There's definite player interest, if any GM's want to give it a shot.

Did I read Dresden Files!? I'm in! :) Eager to try the FATE system too.

THIS GAME IS RATED MATURE: link to another game

Things will be slow for a bit, and I don't have ANYTHING planned, but I'm happy to run a game.

Re: Burn Shift or Dresden Files

Not looking for Dresden Files anymore (got into a game that's going well), but I would still love a Burn Shift game.

I'll be running one soon, but it'd be good to play before trying my hand at GM.

Re: Burn Shift or Dresden Files

Still hoping for some post-apocalyptic Fate action. Anyone interested in GMing Burn Shift?

Re: Burn Shift or Dresden Files

Np, I know a lot of people don't.  Bundle of Holding had it pretty cheap with a bunch of other Fate books like a month ago, so I got to snag it.

I'd be cool with a more generalized post-apocalyptic setting, and I think I could share a lot of the Burn Shift stuff with the GM.  That would count as fair usage, as far as I know.

Do you have a preference to the type of apocalypse?

Post-Apocalyptic Fate game didn't quite pan out, so I'm still looking.

Re: FATE - Burn Shift

In reply to CoyotesGrin (msg # 20):

We might be running some gritty sci-fi with Eldritch horror elements if you're interested. May end up using some Diaspora mechanics. I know it's not post-apocalyptic, so don't worry if you're not interested. :)

The game is still in a very nascent stage, so we don't have everything about the setting ironed out. We'll advertise to a broader audience once we have more ironed out.
