Warhammer 40k Game

I'm looking for someone to start up a Warhammer 40k game, it would entail the fight between Spacemarines (who we will play) and orks, with the influence of chaos being part of the plot. I don't care what system, i'm thinking Only War, but as long as it works for the setting i'm fine with it. Also the game will be rated mature.

I can guarantee three players (myself included), and one maybe player

Re:  Warhammer 40k Game

Heads up Only War is based of Imperial Guard not Spacemarines. You would be thinking Deathwatch if you want to play as Spacemarines.

In reply to FergoTheBrute (msg # 3):

yeah i was thinking that too, but i'm not terribly familiar with WH40k systems, Deathwatch can work, i'm very willing to learn, and the others who want to play are more experienced.

I am up for running this. My terms.

Deathwatch rules

Either players all agree to be the same Chapter or it is a Deathwatch Kill Team

No custom Chapters, No Black Shields, No Wolf Scout from First Founding, no Inquisitors or crossovers from DH, RT, OW.

No duplication of Specialties.

Set in the Jericho Reaches, in a system near the Slinnar Drift

The main inhabited planet is a Feral World, where xeno life forms of all types exist and breed everything from marrow eating maggots to butterflies that lay microscopic eggs on the winds that then are inhaled, to hatch in lungs and eat their way out.

The set up:
A Mechanicus Titanicus transport encountered a Warp storm and was transported to a far system in the Jericho Reach, the main world is Feral and has not known the light of the Imperium in millennia.  Soon after a uncontrolled landing a series of Ork clans made planetfall and tried to claim the prize of the Universe-class Mass Conveyor and everything of the Cult Mechanicus.

The Marines were sent in with one mission, safeguard the Mechanicus.

This game will have serial elements and if all you want is combat, then I guarantee you will win some battles but lose the war and the world for the Emperor.

There is a Human presence on the world as well as secrets, ignore those and the Orks prevail.

Work for anyone?

EDIT: I would not be able to start IC posts until January 6

Characters start at Rank 1 with 2500 Xp to Spend

In reply to fredrikslicer (msg # 8):

I'd be up for a game as well.  I've played Deathwatch once and would gladly go as a kill team or all from one chapter.

i'd enjoy playing the same chapter, also i'm new to warhammer systems other then only war, so please be gentle.

also what about the chaos presence as mentioned? It's not make or break, but i do find chaos to be very interesting to fight/deal with

Re:  Warhammer 40k Game

Everything in the request for a GM will be in the game.

The advantage of being all one Chapter is that Cohesion will not be a problem and all marines can share in the Chapter Attack and Defense patterns.

The Advantage to Deathwatch is the variety and certain Deathwatch specific Talents.

I will start a Game, however you guys all have to figure out two things.

One, which Chapter Deathwatch or other

Two, how much interference does it bring to a game that players are in scattered time zones around the world?

Re:  Warhammer 40k Game

No, there is really only one edition.  The best option IMHO is a PDF copy, from Drive Thru RPG, or any like site.

I live in So Cal, US of A

And there is a Living Errata 1.1 for Deathwatch and Rite of Battle

Re:  Warhammer 40k Game

link to another game MATURE GAME

I'm trying to set up a game of Wushu using the 40k universe as the setting.  Players take the parts of the Deathwatch space marines, in a campaign that will see them facing xenos threats that are hard to destroy simply by blasting them with bolters.   Think epic adventure rather than a wargame.

Feel free to check out what I have already.
