I've recently been reading up on this.  I've never played Deathwatch either, but I would not mind having a go.

I'm set up a game of Wushu using the 40k universe setting.  Wushu is a 'fast-and-lite' rules-set, free, that allows the role-play to be front and centre of the game, rather than tons of rulebooks. I've trialed it out using the fantasy Setting from Exalted and found it works really well!  The system itslef is included on the Game, under the thread 'System'.

Players take the parts of the Ordos Xenos Deathwatch Space Marines.  They will be pitched against ancient evils that need more than bolters and brute strength to resolve.  They'll be fighting planet-killing enemies with only their wits and faith to help them, at times.  Think epic adventure rather than a wargame.

Why are you bombing all these old W40K threads?

Because
a) I have a space in the game.
b) I'm keen.
C) It matches the original poster's stated desires.
d) It makes sense to let as many people know about the game and the opening as possible, to attract the right sort of gamer.

What I have not done is simply banged out the same message in every 'sorta-matching' thread.  Where people have asked specifically for Fantasy Flight Games rules sets, I have passed them by.  And, just because they are old does not mean people stop wanting to play, only that they've given up hope of finding what they wanted.
