So, a bit of a random request, but would anyone be interested in running a game using the setting featured in the Fighting Fantasy world? I'll try to keep this short, but my requirements and preferences would be:
- Level 1 character creation with proportionate in-game rewards. I want to treasure every hard-earned victory, no matter how small.
- Pathfinder or 3.5 as a system. That said, I can play with the stock Advanced Fighting Fantasy rules, if that's a help.
- A small group of players wouldn't be a problem for me, if interest arises. All PCs should have a classic Fighting Fantasy feel, however.
- I'd prefer to play a rogue or sorcerer, but might consider a bard or mage.
- I'd like to start with a small, simple adventure rather than something along the lines of the FF gamebooks. A relatively minor errand (albeit one that can springboard into a more involved plot) would be great. I believe that even seemingly mundane situations can play out in a fun and interesting way.
- A sandbox game or a guided plot is fine.
- I'm don't want to write novels every post, but I do like to put a bit of care and thought into even the shortest replies. Combat, adventure and thrilling heroics are a must, but I also love roleplaying the interactions between the PCs and the world they inhabit. That said, I hate superfluous navel-gazing just as much as I hate mindless hack-and-slash. Balance is key!
- The specific location within the setting can be negotiated. There's a lot of options, most of which I can happily work with.
I've probably left something out, but I think that's it. Questions and suggestions can be put forward in this thread, or through rMail if preferred. Thanks in advance!
