3.5 dnd dabbler necromancer

Necromancer, dabbles a bit, looking for a new home. Loves being party nanny, putting a roof over their heads and making sure. They are well supplied. One can't fight fire with fire if your fellow heros are out to kill you!

In truth the idea behind the character was a arcane savant. He is great at necromancy due to natural inborn talent but sucks at so many other things in his life. The character was born sitting back talking with Jim Butcher at the nero and Heroic larps. We figured the best kind of hero is one that can take something chuthulu bad and save a country with it!

That and you never see a necromancer trying to keep his undead pretty and fresh. Nor a necromancer who buys pretty flowers for the pretty girls =P

Re: 3.5 dnd dabbler necromancer

Is the build pretty stuck in stone, or is there room for adjustment? I ask, because I am working on a 3.5 campaign (in Notepad, so it does not yet exist on this site, but should be coming here soon enough), but it has the problem of being rather anti-Arcane PC. The downside of having an arcane nobility with the ability to strip arcane magic from those they don't like and give it to those they do...the PCs, who start in a disadvantaged position, can't have arcane arts. But, if one went through a divine route toward necromancy, it could easily be worked in. And arcane things could be, possibly, acquired later on.

Re: 3.5 dnd dabbler necromancer

Yet another game gone.

Keep in mind my character isnt like your common necromancer. Rotting undead are the sign of lazy necromancers. Hes not evil for the sake of evil, just a savant trying to make the most use out of his talent. He has done such things as defending towns, saving the day, and even went so far as to attone for his transgressions to the church at the time.

Research is the key to a dabbler necro.

In reply to Mortannis (msg # 8):

If he is a good or neutral guy and you don't mind the minor changes he could join my Pathfinder Forgotten Realms game. Oh and you have to be an adult.

Re: 3.5 dnd dabbler necromancer

All good ne68127, and thanks for also hitting back to me in the Rmail. Though if I ever play one of your games again I would want to bring back Barab, that master of masks enchanter that died in your other game ;D

 Still looking otherwise.

Re: 3.5 dnd dabbler necromancer

It's that time again, outliving a game is starting to become my superpower. One goes for a few years and then its gone.

So, anyone out there care to have a mage in their game? I either go with 'fight fire with fire' necromancer or evolutionary, a mage trying hard for transformative perfection.

I am good for 3.5 DND but I've developed a preference for Pathfinder
