There's lots to see and do here, so you should find a game you like very soon if you know where to look.
There are some things you should know when just getting started, so please do check out the
FAQs and the
Help (especially the sections concerning
Mature and Adult Content in games, and the sections concerning other
Policies of RPoL).
While you are getting to know the place, hang out in
Community Chat and get the feel of the place. Folks go there to talk about games, characters, or just whatever.

Wanted - Players --> this is where GMs advertise their games that need players.
Wanted - GMs --> this is where players can advertise for a GM to run a game they want to play.
Game Proposals, Input, and Advice --> a place for prospective GMs to propose a game they want to run. This allows the GM to gauge interest before doing all the work of developing and deploying a game. As the forum title says, though, it's more than that. Folks can ask for and receive advice on anything permitted by forum rules, seek input about how a game or game system should be ran, or any of several other topics.
The
Game Search Engine is on the main RPoL menu near the bottom, to the right of the small banner telling the reader how many games and posts are up on RPoL. It has a rather unique set of filters to help narrow down the numerous games to what you are actually looking for.
