Hello there!

I am completly fresh - I haven't yet played any roleplay games (neither freeform nor paper, although I'm looking forward to find some D&D group some day). Hopefully I'll fit in! Although I'm afraid that I might fail miserably with my mediocre English skills. Anyway, I'm looking forward to join some game later today!

Oh, also: bloody hell, this forum does look oldschool! I already like it.

Hello there!

Welcome to RpoL, one of the best PbP websites around.

With a friendly community and loads of games to participate in of all kinds of systems, thou should never be bored.

It's always best to check out the FAQs on this site, located directly in the upper right hand corner if you have specific questions about specific things on this site. The Help option also works in some favor.

On the Main Menu, it's always best to check out the Wanted - Players thread to see if any games spark your interest. From what I've noticed, there are tons of games from free-form to Sandbox to Pathfinder to D&D5e gaming systems. I’m sure you’ll find something that sparks your interest.

Or perhaps you have a game idea and don’t want to run it and want to look for a GM? Then you’ll want to head to Wanted - GMs; perhaps you’ll want to GM someone else’s idea.

Wanna join idle conversation? The Community Chat thread from the main menu is the best place to engage in interesting conversations from the community.

We as a whole are always willing to help out to newly registered users so don't be afraid to reach out.

You'll find your calling soon on this site.

Enjoy!

You're English looks fine from here.  You're right about there being a fair sized old-school contingent, but there's lots to do here in just about any range of gaming you might fancy.

White Comic has steered you aright on how to get started.  Nose around, read up, and then dive in.  Welcome to RPoL!

Re: Hello there!

It's a shame that all free-form games available at the moment are mature/adult. How active is the Wanted - Players section of the forum?

Re: Hello there!

Don’t be fooled by the Mature rating. That’s just a precaution. There’s actually no age limit to Mature games.

quote:
Mature games are games which have (as some minor portion of them) mature themes, strong language, drug use, and/or extensive violence.  Mature games use the Mature Content flag to warn potential readers that some of the game material may be considered offensive.  Despite this flag, Mature Games must remain suitable to all ages.

Truthfully, it’s not uncommon to see most games bare the Mature rating.

I have a Mature Rating on my game because some character use strong language, there is violence, and just have a Mature theme around it.

The Wanted - Players section always has a bump every day. Whether it’s a new game being created or an already existing one looking for more players.

In a week's time 'Wanted-Players' typically adds several pages of new or bumped games. And many of them are free-form.
