Need a little help getting into an adventure with a character. Was hoping there would be a tutorial arc to travel with some other newbies.

If you'd like to find a game to join, check out the "Wanted - Players" forum, where GMs looking to fill their games will post up advertising what they're looking for, or you can use the Search function to look for something more specific. If you're looking to play in a specific type of game and there doesn't seem to be one, you can make a post in the "Wanted - GMs" section to see if there ifs anyone willing to run such a game for you :). And don't neglect the Help function (top right of the screen, in red) if you have any issues getting around the site :).

Role-playing in itself is easy. It's just about pretending to be someone else. There are a lot of freeform games here that require little more than just that. So-called system games utilize a framework of rules to regulate the pretending, which may be extremely complex or rather simple. It all happens within the games being run by GMs (Game Masters) who determine what rules set and background is used and what players to admit to their games.
