Hello friends,

I'm new to rp and I'm interested in playing Dungeons and Dragons with some patient people who wouldn't mind showing me the ropes like Character Creation, general rules etc. I have watched and read up on a bit of D&D, I also have some character ideas but don't really know what's plausible as of yet. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Tulip, welcome to RPOL :). Which edition of DnD were you interested in? There are five, currently, all with varying rulesets (to a greater or lesser degree from each other). The earlier ones tend to be rather more complicated, then they got rather less so over time, and people tend to have editions that they either like or dislike, for example 4th Edition tends to be either loved or hated by people, for some reason - personally, I like it (it has nice simple rules, which may be why some people don't like it - they find it too simple ;)). I can certainly help you with that edition, anyway, if you want to chuck me an RMail any time :).

There are also plenty of Fantasy-based RPGs out there if you would like to broaden your search (not to mention RPGs for basically any genre and/or sub-genre in existence ;)).
