I saw this tag in the help file but I can't get it to work. Is it obsolete?

Yes I am. Maybe I'm just not using the tag right. I tried it like this

<spoil mode=silent>
text here

<spoil>

and also with some minor variants such as using <spoiler> instead of <spoil>

If you use it exactly as it shows in the Help - <spoiler mode=silent>Text </spoiler> then it will work.  However, it doesn't show up properly in a preview, only in the finished post.

Ah, thanks. I was indeed stopping at the preview part.

edit: I think there's a typo in the help because it definitely says "spoil" and not "spoiler."
