I have just joined Roleplay Online. This looks like a great community, with many options for playing games by post.

I am interested in all roleplaying. I also have a strong enthusiasm for games about or inspired by East Asian mythology, folklore, legend and history.

I see that there are many sub-forums (is this the right term?)  to start looking for like-minded people. I will start to browse and search through those.

If there are any recommendations for where to start, please share them!

Hello! I'd start with Wanted - Players if you want to get a look at GMs in need of players. You can also post in Wanted - GMs and describe exactly the game you want and see who bites. But if you want to chat and say hello somewhere a little busier, go to Community Chat. :)

What additional features do subscribers enjoy?

How is it possible to subscribe to the site? My user preferences say I am inactive as a subscriber.

None. Subscriptions aren't in place yet. The transition has been a measured one and I don't think it will be ready for awhile. But I could be wrong.
