Hello Roleplay Online!

My name is Kaithulhu, but you may call me Kai for short if you wish. I've got many years of play-by-post and also 'proper' face-to-face roleplaying under my belt at this point. Joining this site is just one more step in my journey to find the right forum for me - perhaps it may even be the last step!

A little bit about myself for future reference: I put a heavy emphasis on the 'roleplaying' side of roleplaying games. I am an amateur writer in addition to being a gamer, so I tend to like a good story with compelling characters to accompany my adventures. Verbose, detailed posts tend to be my default offerings to any games I join or create, and I appreciate the same from anyone I play with, if not expect it.

I am a player as well as a GM, and in fact intend to use this site to practice my GMing of various games, popular and otherwise. My favourite game to play and GM is hands-down Dungeon World, for the way it combines story-focused mechanics with classical adventuring. The games I hope to run here though are of the more old-school variety - mostly Sine Nomine/Kevin Crawford games such as Stars Without Number, Other Dust, Spears of the Dawn, etc. I find those games to be excellently designed and long to test my GM skills with them.

All of that said, I hope to play with at least some of you in the near future! :)

Welcome!  I'm glad you found our odd little family.  I've been here over 6 years myself (and am still a newbie compared to some) and I can't get enough.
Please make yourself at home, and feel free to ask anything you'd like.  We love helping new people, despite how busy everyone is this time of year.

This site has some of the best roleplayers and GMs I've ever encountered, and I've been privileged to meet many good ones over the years.
We have at least some of the games you've mentioned, including many more that you might like to try.  Since the games are run by regular gamers like us, it can be kind of hit or miss.  But there's always new games opening up.
