Hi all,

I'm new to PbP but not to RPGs in general - since I started playing in 1990, I've played AD&D, Shadowrun, CoC, OWOD, Savage Worlds, Dungeon World and more.

As responsibilities crept up, I found I had less and less time to DM 12 hour dungeon crawl marathons or epic V:TM sessions, so got to roleplay in meatspace less and less...

Until I discovered rpol that is! I'd like to get involved with a game or two and when I get used to how it all works I'd like to maybe run Princes of The Apocalypse or some OSR depending on what people might like.

Welcome to RPOL!  Hope you have a lot of fun here - there are tons of games, so you'll be right at home here with the different variety that you like!

Be sure to ask lots of questions, and PLEASE read the 'Help' in the upper-right, as it will make this site make a lot of sense; it's well designed unlike a lot of other places.

I tend to think that most will agree with me, you should just jump in with both feet. Go to the LOOKING FOR PLAYERS thread, find a game that looks interesting, RTJ (Request to join) and learn as you go !

We need brains players ! (chuckle) ... oh and "Send more cops"

I'm a little butthurt at the moment, because I can't seem to find a GM who'll have me as a player. I guess I'm not applying to the games correctly or something.

Anyway, I'll apply to a few more before I move on to pastures new! Thanks for the encouragement.

You very well might not be applying correctly -- each GM sets their own Requirements To Join that will most times include the format of how to apply. Often a thread labeled 'game rules' or just 'RTJ', sometimes hidden a bit.

Keep in mind though that there can be wildly varying posting rates -- the requests you sent might not have been read, or a recruitment period is open until some date in the future and the GM doesn't want to respond before seeing the rest of the applicants.

Above all though, demand always outstrips supply.

EDIT: And sometimes a game you find and apply to is already "dead" by the time you get there. There's a high game mortality rate. You can check when the last time people have logged in on with the Cast menu link at the top of each game.
