Newbie
Hello all!
I'm a completely newbie when it comes to tabletop RPGs. I've always been interested in them, but I've never had any friends who were equally interested and I've yet to discover any local groups that meet up for games.
I found this site a while back, but life got a bit hectic so I wasn't able to explore as completely as I would have liked. Luckily I'm a teacher, so my schedule just got a bit more flexible and I decided to look back into play by post rpg.
Like I said, I am completely new to the tabletop rpg, so I've little idea when it comes to different systems and such. I've perused the Pathfinder system the past few days with a lot of the open sources material out there on the web, but I wouldn't call it working knowledge.
I'd like to jump in and join some games, but I don't want to slow down the pace for some of the more experienced players. Any suggestions there?
As for preferences, since I'm new, I don't really have a certain system or style of play that appeals to me. I do like the idea of having a bit more structure to the actual game than pure free form though. I also am a fan of pretty much anything fantasy or sf. That includes steam punk and post-apocalyptic type settings. Though I will say my first and one true love will always be epic fantasy.
I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you guys and gals and having some adventures with y'all.
Cheers!
