Title is probably self explanatory. I've never been in a PbP game before, but, after recently moving to the middle of nowhere, it appears to be my only option to get my gaming fix.

I've played nearly every version of D&D, and DM for 3.5. I'm also interested in other systems, but the group I used to roll with was pretty stuck on D&D. Before I start my own campaign on here though, I'd like to get the hang of PbP as a player. I've read through the Help pages, and I think I get it, but there's nothing like hands on experience.

You will also wish to read through the FAQs, they too will help you a great deal. I can attest that there is a lot of call for D&D games on this site, but they tend to fill up with astonishing rapidity, so your best bet will probably be to put out an add in the 'Wanted - GMs' forum.
