Time to deletion

I once heard that the number of posts in a game affects the time until it is permanently deleted.

I assumed that meant that fewer posts equals faster deletion.

However, after deleting all of the posts from my finished or abandoned games, they have stuck around for literally years (after deletion).

Was I wrong about the relationship between posts and deletion time? Does having no posts mean these games will never go away?

I know the standard answer is "recycle it into a new game" but I'm not planning on starting any anytime soon.

It also doesn't really matter at all, I was just curious.

Re: Time to deletion

Did you actually mark it for deletion?

In reply to Evil Empryss (msg # 2):

Yes. To confirm, they show up as deleted when I search for my name on the frontpage (try it yourself if you'd like.)

I've deleted games before (where I didn't clear the threads) and they went away after 8 to 15 months.

Then I can only shrug.  Sorry, sometimes it's the obvious that people miss so I had to ask.

Re: Time to deletion

Game deletion is not automated - it depends on a moderator having the time to run the script which removes them.

Re: Time to deletion

Ah, thanks for the quick and clear answer. I love the quality of service on RPoL. One of the reasons I've never tried anywhere else.

Re: Time to deletion

I've run the script, so hopefully at least some of the games have been tidied up.  ;)

Re: Time to deletion

Ah yes, so that's how it works. I have seen some games on here that, well I really would love to play the concept... but they stopped posting years ago.
