Re: New guy here.

*smiles*  Welcome and make yourself at home, my friend.    We're an odd bunch, but nearly all of us are very eager to welcome new people to the site.
Please read the FAQ section in the upper right corner of the screen, then have a look at the forums, especially Wanted Players, to see who's "hiring" at the moment.
You can post on Wanted GMs if you want to ask for a specific game.

Please feel free to ask whatever you'd like, though.  :)

Re: New guy here.

Welcome, PSV14. What kinds of games do you prefer? You can search for it by title or browse the Players Wanted or GM Wanted forums. I also enjoy Community Chat to find players with similar interests.

When you find a game you're interested in, click Request Access and ask to be in the game. Some GMs have formatted steps on how to apply for a game. Others just like to get to know the player a bit in conversation. You'll see what is necessary when you're browsing the information the GM has posted about the game.

If you have more questions, please ask!

Re: New guy here.

And don't be afraid to apply for a game if you don't know the rules.  Heck, most of my players don't.  Just let the GM know, most are happy to bring someone new into the game.

Re: New guy here.

Bringing Up My Post.

OK, it probably doesn't really mean that but it amused me.  I really don't remember when the "bump" terminology started, but I do recall, years and years ago, that people would go to knock their ad back to the top of the list (and so the front page) and would often make a post like, "Bumping my ad up to the top!"

It soon just became "Bump!" or, inexplicably for some, "bumb".
