Hi everyone. Thought I should introduce myself real quick.

I've played some free-form forum rpgs on and off, but in the past couple years I've gotten interested in playing more formal pencil-and-paper games. I've been able to participate in a few one shots and short games, but have had trouble finding a group that lasts. I've been getting the itch to play again, so I thought I would come and try some play-by-post.

Overall, I'm still pretty much an rpg newbie. As I said, I've done some free-form role-playing, but only a little formal rules based role-playing (and never play by post). In terms of games here, I am primarily interested in trying a Pathfinder game (never used the system or d&d but I've read up on it and it sounds like a lot of fun) or playing some NWOD (the only system I have some experience in, primarily with Changeling).

Hey, Alfrond!  Welcome to RPOL.  You'll find both Pathfinder and NWOD games here, and yes, forum games do have a habit of drying up just when they start to get interesting, but we have a ton of long-running games here.  To look for new games, check out the Wanted - Players forum, and the Game Proposals, Interest, and Advice forum is another good place to check for upcoming games.  Failing that, you can do a search of all games at the bottom of the main page.  If you don't mind joining already running games, this method is a good way to find games that are in it for the long haul.

We have tons of freeform games, too.  It's probably the most popular game system, but D&D in all its editions is also quite popular, along with a ton of other systems, many of which may be completely new to you.
