Hello

Hi all! New to this, but I want to give it a try!

Not really sure what else to say, I'm running a Dungeon World game IRL but those sessions are few and far between... and I'm the DM. Hoping to be a player in a PbP game here!

Any tips or tricks I need to know?

Re: Hello

Welcome to our weird little family.   I think you'll love it here.  My live gaming has dried up since moving,  and rpol has been amazing.    It's easy to get started, too.

The FAQ section in the right hand corner should give you the run down on how the site works.
Then feel free to check out the Wanted Players forum for games that are "hiring" at the moment,  or ask for what you want in the Wanted GM forum.   Using the Browse feature at the bottom of the main menu might help you find some games too.

If you have any other questions,  please let us know.   We love helping new people.  :)

Re: Hello

Yes rpol is one of the few reasons my books are not in a landfill.

What type of games are you interested in?

Re: Hello

Thanks for the links!

I guess I'm willing to play anything. I know DnD3.5, Pathfinder, and Dungeon World well. I've played/skimmed/read reviews about many other systems trying to become a better DM. I have, but my players aren't available all too much.

I'd to play a post apocalyptic game. Most of the games I've played have been medieval fantasy.

Thanks for replying, both! Makes me feel welcome!

Re: Hello

In reply to koolaid_dm (msg # 4):

I think you made a wise choice in looking at RPOL if you want to polish your DMing. Sometimes players are hard to come by, or they don't want to play what you'd like to run. You'll probably find your descriptive skills improving and you'll certainly get a workout with regards to rules, if you want to run a game like Pathfinder. (Some GMs eschew rules altogether or mostly and just run "free-form" or "home-brew" games with simple mechanics.)

descriptive skills

Yeah, I definitely need some help in that area! Desperately.

Luckily I've already found a game! Thanks for the vote of confidence. So far this site and its peoples are amazing.
