Hello, I am an almost complete newcomer to pen-and-paper role playing, even if it is sans the pen and the paper here.

My prior experience at it would be an unfinished campaign of "Hollowed Earth: Expedition" that was played via IRC, so whatever system is used here will also, sadly, be foreign to me. Though, I have to admit that the IRC was rather handy as a medium for the game.

I am however very interested in role playing, and harbor curiosity to pretty much any genre. Especially Fantasy, SciFi and Steam/Diesel -Punk. Though I will likely be clueless on the rules at the start when introduced to a new game, so apologies in advance.

As for my style of play, I prefer role-playing over optimizing a character, a trait that I extend to games beyond RPGs too. And one that usually comes back to bite me in games-other-than RPGs.


Now, I don't really know how to end this introduction in a nice way, so I guess I'll just say write "That'd be all, hello everyone."

There are dozens of game systems here, including freeform, which has no system and is pure role playing.   Still, there are many people who will help you learn otyer systems,  too.
