Passed away at the age of 88. Famous for playing the more lighthearted and charming version of Batman in the 60's.

He was "The Bright Knight", and I feel like our world just got a little bit darker.

He's getting a well deserved rest after six decades of helping us not take things too seriously. This means now we need to brighten the world for ourselves and each other, the way our hero showed us how.

Theme song is now running through my mind.
Ironically I just watched a movie he and Burt Ward did back in 2002 on Youtube last night.
Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt.
Done in the same kind of style as their old show but with well acted flashbacks to behind the scene things as well as old clips blended in to the movie. A must see I think for fans of this genre and really great tribute to the actor who was the Bright Knight.
He will be missed but not forgotten.

Remarkable for being able to play it straight (along with Robin).

So very well said.  Adam West was one of my heroes as a young child.  He certainly brightened my world for a while, and I will miss him greatly.  Such calm deadpan, when all around him was comedic chaos.  He shone so brightly himself because he made others shine, not just in his acting career, but in his life.

Travel easy, Adam West, on your westward journey.

Re: Rest in Peace, Adam West

Watching Family Guy recently, he seems to crop up in every episode! I didn't realise just how many scenes he appears in, as "himself". His deadpan delivery is just incredible. He brightens up my day, even from beyond the grave. To the Bat Coffin! <3
