I just joined but I don't see any recent play. That said, I've just joined and haven't even begun to find out all there is to know.

The Players-Wanted forum is the best place to start. That's where people post their game ads, with all the information you need to decide if you want to get involved.

At first I thought rpol was dead, I have just returned to the site after a few years of dealing with real life, but I was pleasantly surprised that that impression was proven wrong. That being said, there is less variety in the games than I previously experienced, but even that seems to be looking up.

I'm sure it's just a phase the site is going through... in terms of what GMs are running. There are a wide variety of games being run at the moment; just not many of them are looking for players.

Do a search at the bottom for games you'd like, and see if any of them are accepting new players. they may not have put up a recent post in the Players Wanted thread.

I call this the Holiday slump - from late October to the first of the year I have noticed that games post slower (if at all). Part is this period is the holidays, part is it's winter and people don't spend much time in front of a cold computer. At least the more socially active ones. We hermits and socially awkward types are here, typing away.

I always put it down to the southern hemisphere being in summer as well. It's too hot to hang around indoors...

In the US, it's also end-of-semester for many college students, and RPOL takes a back seat to the more urgent tasks of final examinations and projects for courses.
