Is anyone else having connection problems with RPOL?  I am not having problems with ANY other web sites.

I've been having issues for the past few days also.  I had to: run ccleaner, flushdns, reset ipconfig.  And even then...it took like three tries.

Both my girlfriend and I are having issues. It doesn't matter whether I use my phone or computer, I fail to connect at odd times.

I've also had difficulty loading RPOL. Took no steps to fix it, and now it's working again.

It was fine for me until today. It's sometimes a bit slow; but I've never had an issue with it connecting at all until today.

Same.  Been off and on.  Various test websites have verified that it's on rpol's end generally, or at least closer to rpol than to me.

So nothing to do but wait for whatever the issue is to get cleared up.

It's definitely not just you. It's the site itself. I like to use websites that tell me so. You can do a simple google search like "Is RPoL Down?" and there are plenty of sites out there that will try to reach RPoL on your behalf. When two or three all fail in a row (like they have recently for me), I know I just have to wait, because nothing I do is gonna change that.

Hardware fault.  Luckily we've got redundancy, but trying to recover from the fault caused massive resource overload.

I've come up with a work-around that has reduced load by about 30-fold, so hopefully that will tie us over until the recovery completes.

Sorry for the interruption.  I'll be contacting the provider regarding this failure.

Thanks Jase!  Wow!  I wasn't complaining.  I was just wanting to make sure, that it wasn't me in some weird way.

A good way to judge if slowdowns are with RPOL or somewhere else in your connection to the site is to look at the bottom bar of the display...on mine, at least (Firefox browser), there's a little note in the center of the bar that says 'Generated in x.yyy seconds.'

On a 'normal' day for me, x is always 0, and .yyy is typically under .4 (and often under .2)  When the connection issue/hardware problem hit, x was over 100, consistently.  Since that number is generated by RPOL, it's a good indicator of whether any slowdowns are site-side or somewhere else (if it takes an age to load, but you've got a low generation time, it's not an RPOL problem...the site is running as normal, but something somewhere is slowing down transmission times of the data.)

jase being amazing, as always. Does this have anything to do with the recent wiki crash/corruption and perhaps the difficulties with character descriptions and game introductions not displaying properly? Is it all part of the same problem?

Are we having problems again?  It seems like there is often a hic-cough at around about 8pm GMT.  Most times very short, but other times (like last night)  for a few hours.

I had assumed that it was a system process kicking in, because every time I have noticed it - it was a few minutes after 8.

Now I want  minty chocolate thins :(

Yeah, it was down for me for several hours yesterday; from early afternoon till somewhere later in the night.  It's happened before, I just assume their running some sort of fix, or debugging or something of that sort.  I've only seen it happen maybe 2 other times and it's always been good in a few hours.

I have an issue now where I cannot connect for secity. It flashes the site for a moment before Chrome refuses me to continue.

I'm fine today...but yesterday, it seemed like every other thread I tried to open would stall.  Seems more like a routing issue...some connection between me and RPOL was undergoing something that had the CPU tied up pretty severely.  No idea what, or where, though...
