NaNoWriMo 2016

Since NaNoWriMo is edging closer again, I figured I'd make another post to see if any fellow RPoLers are giving it a try!

For those not in the know, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. In November, a ton of people all over the world come together digitally to try and write 50,000 words, which comes down to 1666 words per day. The key word is quantity, and not quality, and though this can lead to questionable results it can also be fun and rewarding and can teach starting writers a lot about keeping up a daily rhythm.

You can visit the website, make an account, and add writing buddies. My name there is Iammara as well, so add me if you like so we can encourage each other throughout the month! It's more fun with buddies :)

I'm not following the basic premise of NaNoWriMo this year. My novel is done and because life stuff has been terrible this year I've kind of...stopped just before the last editing round. So I'll be dividing the total number of pages in my book through the number of days and I'll be counting it a win if I can get through editing the whole thing.

How about you all? Anybody prepping yet? Anyone on the fence?

NaNoWriMo 2016

While technically it's 1667 words per day (because you've got to round up), it's also one of my favorite hobbies. The pressure is on this year for me, as it always is, because every year I've participated I've won (which has been the last 6 years). So, you know, the big 7.

There are a lot of people who do unconventional novelling in November, and while I'm not certain I agree with it, so long as it promotes the spirit of writing I suppose that's a good thing.
