Continuum: Roleplaying in the Yet

Has anyone here ran a game of Continuum and would you have any suggestions? I made a search but there are no Active or Inactive Continuum games on here apparently. I really like the idea, but it sounds like it'd be very difficult to implement. I've never seen any other system where time travel was so emphasized.

Not familiar with Continuum, but for a time travel game, you can't get any more timey-whimey than Dr. Who.

Suggestions:

(*) Please be ready to introduce and exploit the fascinating time travel facets of the game.  If you aren't playing with paradox, time combat, etc., then you might as well play a non-time-travel game.  ;)

Continuum: Roleplaying in the Yet

Sorry mods. I assumed that might be the case, but wasn't sure.

OakMaster, (wow two different Masters replied) I am just reading the system now, haven't even finished. I hope to run it for a real-life party, but if that fails I may run it here. Honestly, it might be much easier here because I would have time to adjust mentally.

Have you ever played this system?

I've had games with time travel before, but most were freeform or really downplayed the interesting aspects.

On another note, StarMaster, IS there a decent Dr. Who system? I wanted to run a freeform game but my players fizzled. Never looked for a system.

I have played in two C°ntinuum games over the years, one of which was on RPoL 4.5 years go, but they both died relatively early on.

I can't say that I have completely my mind wrapped around the system, especially time combat, but I think that it is fascinating.

As a GM, you would certainly want to understand it as well as possible.  Otherwise, you will be avoiding what you don't understand, and therefore making the game more boring...  ;)

There are two Dr. Who rpgs out there... on older one and a newer one. I haven't run a game with either system, but am playing in the new one. I think it's a good system, but it might be too oriented to Dr. Who to adapt freely to another game.

I'm a fan of both the Hannibal Fortune--Agent of T.E.R.R.A. series and the Simon Hawke Time Wars series.

Continuum: Roleplaying in the Yet

Continuum requires a lot of bookkeeping, which I think makes play-by-post suitable for it.  Bookkeeping can happen between posts.

(Unlike Dr. Who, continuum assumes that the timeline cannot be changed)
