The world talking funny book XKCD did a funny page talking about space ships using simple words only.

https://xkcd.com/1133/

He has now written computer words that allow you to check your writing to make sure it is using only the top ten hundred words. It is a fun problem to try and write this way. I put forward a problem to you to write using only simple words.

He's not the first to try that.

Once upon a time, a man named George Orwell wrote a story in which the government was trying to force people to communicate in only simple words.

Not funny, though.

Double Plus UnFunny.

I think, unless you're emulating Dr. Seuss (which could be a really lucrative career path), it would probably be even more fun to see which non-common words you use.

What I mean to infer is that it only exacerbates the general decline of the English language created by so-called "leet texters" to preferentially experiment with ultra-common word use rather than a more polished or advanced form of the language. ;)

Taking a complex task and making them simple is actually sometimes a task that a technical writer gets, because the people that get the technical manual are not always...well, all that bright. So really, taking a complex idea (Like a rocket ship) and explaining it in simple terms is actually a very good skill to have. Because sometimes, the person reading your work can only read at a 4th grade level.

I Just tried to write a reading block replying to this larger reading block where i used only the most used words like the funny drawing found on the world computer roads. Its actually a lot harder than you may think. you have to do some quite large changes that keep the same meaning and use your words in such a way that the persons thought behind the writing does not make too much sense.

By the way can you see what i have done here :)

Try it out

Man, I admit I like never have a hard time making things more stupid. It's like, you know, going the other way that's hard.  I mean like some normal words are all no no's, but it's not too hard for me to avoid them. But everyone's different. :)

(That fits too, even this works.)
