Yes.
I play every wensday eve barring holidays and life. We are currently playing Palladium Fantasy. Just got done playing rifts and before that pathfinder. Same group for 4 years. New faces come and go but the core remains the same.

Yes, at my University, a group of guys and I have been playing various RPGs and board games since about 3 years ago, playing every Friday night during the school year.

I've been meeting up every week with the same group (ranging in size from 3 to 6 players) for the last three years. While the game--and even the GM--has changed on multiple occasions, the meeting up every Friday night has been pretty consistent.

I'm still trying to find a gaming group. Every once in a while, I'll find some people online that want to meet up, but it never goes further than talking about it. I haven't given up though!

I haven't done any RL gaming for years now. However I'm starting to miss that face to face interactions I use to enjoy. There are several comic shops around where I live so I'm going to start there in my quest to find some RL games.

Technology is an awesome thing - I'm currently doing a bi-weekly gave via Skype call.  It's a great mix of that "personal" connection with the ultimate DM screen!

I did for ages.  For a while, I was actually in multiple RL games, even...but that was before I discovered RPOL.

But when all your gaming buddies live more than an hour away...and the price of gas doubles from what it was when you first moved...it becomes really difficult to sustain that.  I'd do it again, if the right group started with the right game in my area, but I'm not holding my breath for that.  Everyone I know who likes to play Star Wars lives either an hour north or south of where I do...

Does anyone here actually play in a weekly RL Rpg game?

I had been in several amazing games in the northeast, then I moved to Texas.   There probably are good games down here, but I've yet to find any.

It's been almost 12 years, and I've had three attempts down here.

The first was a 3.5 D&D game with a group of college students at their apartment, a game that imploded because I dared interfere with the love/hate relationship between the DM and the min-max player in it, who were roommates and old friends.   After the third game, that seemed about to end as the first two did, with both of them arguing about some bit of trivia until the player stalked off to his room in a huff for the rest of the night, I politely but firmly pointed out that perhaps this argument could wait until later.
I wasn't invited back.

The second was a group of local people I gamed with for a couple of weeks.  We played one session of Basic Roleplaying Game (or something like that), and then two weeks of playing board games because the GM kept forgetting to show up.
Then I just stopped coming.

The third gaming group happened after I joined Rpol, so I was a little less hungry for a game.   A coworker wanted to learn D&D, so I started a very casual game for her, her roommate, and her grown daughter.   They were friends, but they weren't that good at it.   Part of it was that they all had health problems that made them too tired to play for more than a few hours, and part was that they all constantly kept getting pulled away from the game for facebook, text messages, and Final Fantasy 14.   They were good people who tried, but I'll admit that it got old every time I had to keep reminding them what their Armor class was and what die to roll to attack....every time.

In other words.......I'm very helpful I found Rpol.   :)

I'm not sure I've ever been in a weekly game. Monthly games have always been more my thing - when I first started, my sister was DM; but she's about 7 1/2 years older than I am, so she had more to do than just running a game every week. In fact, even as a child, I've usually been gaming with people who had jobs and lives, so a weekly game wasn't going to happen.

IT is looking like next year, I'll be running a monthly game again. 5E DnD; for my son, sister, her daughter and possibly her partner. We'll see what happens.

When I stop and think about it, I'm actually amazed I made it through college with anything resembling a GPA.  I think, at one point, I was playing a Marvel Superheroes game, two different Star Wars games, a Dark Conspiracy game, a White Wolf LARP, and at least one other game, all weekly (the GMs for most of the games were my roommates).  And on top of that, I was very active in several MUDs/MUSHes...

And, somehow, I was still pulling down decent grades at the same time.  I kinda miss those days...

I host a weekly game at my house. Everyone in the entire group owns only two vehicles combined, so logistics prevent the group from ever getting too big. About half of nights we meet, we roleplay game for three or four hours. Depending on who is or is not able to attend on any given week, we often do something else like card games or board games.

The last three weeks, we have been playing Shadowrun 5th edition. I hate the system, but the setting and the artwork are still as solid as they ever were.

Yup, been doing it for about 15 years. These days it's mostly D&D 3.5, PF, and D&D 4.0. We've played probably another dozen systems, some we liked, some we tried and hated, some we broke because we played it so long.

My real-life group is so much more intense than RPOL will ever be (to me). In D&D we get a level about once session, slightly less, like .8 of level. A "session", though, is defined by us as the entirety of a weekend.

We also mix up the week with card games now and then and the occasional movie (which with my tourettes I rarely attend the latter).

2nd edition AD&D weekly game. For years. The gang doesn't want to let go of AD&D - we're all old farts and dem new-fangled dinguses just don't cut it. :D

We went from a custom world with dragonbone swords, orks from WH40k and similar weirdness to Forgotten Realms to another homebrewed world to yet another homebrew.

I did until last year when everyone moved away. The game survived a shirt while on play by post before dying completely. It meshed well with my kid turning 3, which has been a tough age, so a dual front helps. I plan to go back to it, though. Where does a 40 year old professional and father find a group though? Not at my local game store. I assume there must be something like Criagslist for tabletop gamers out there.

I haven't been in a game round a table for about ten and half years. Since my daughter started going to nursery. First it was having to get home to pick her up then primary school and the evening collecting now secondary school and getting home in time to allow her after school career to go home.

All that meant by the time I'd picked and my wife got home from work it was about eight in the evening. It took a good 45 minute tube ride to get to my group so it just wasn't practical. That's about the time I joined rpol :)

I play in a bi-weekly game.  Or rather, I GM one, a Numenera game.  Before that I did various 3.5 D&D games on the same schedule, back to about 2005.  I did a weekly game the year before that, and prior to that I was in college, where I played in two games and GMed two others every single week (ah, those were the days...).

In the last few years I also got to play in a bi-weekly game one of my players GMed, but since he and his wife had their first kid, that pretty much has gone away forever.  My husband used to run a Shadowrun game, but while he likes to play, he's not super at GMing and had bought some pre-made adventures that had some of the worst writing we'd ever seen.  That soured the group on Shadowrun, unfortunately, and has left me unable to play any face-to-face RPG for going on two years now.

Which makes me rather sad.  :(

I have a weekly game with 4 rotating GM's and one player who is a former GM, just doesn't have time anymore.

We're currently cycling between 3 5th edition games and an Aberrant game.

I miss REAL gaming but #1 I am unable to get to the gaming store and #2 no one runs Palladium games at the store.  So if there was a Palladium game... it would be me running it.  Also, everyone who does want Palladium wants Rifts; I am done with Rifts as it turns into nothing but a "I want this gear" game.  *Shrugs.*

I miss my friend's Palladium Fantasy game.  Can't say I was a huge fan of the system, necessarily, but he had kit-bashed a bunch of other stuff into the game (like giving players the option of playing a monk based on selected martial arts out of the Ninjas and Superspies game) that made it very enjoyable.  He had an easy-going GM style that jived well with the group that was playing.  And it was just an awesome group (actually, multiple awesome groups, as I think I ended up with three or four different characters out of that game.)

One of my all-time favorite characters to play came out of one of those groups...my Troll pirate (bosun's mate on a pirate ship...ended up getting his own ship and crew as the game progressed...)

I'm going home for the holidays. My husband meets with a game group three weekends a month. I'll be able to join them for a one-shot.

Looking at my next jobsite, there is a small game shop in town. Hopefully, there's a little gaming scene there.
