Game hosts not responding.

Anyone else have this problem or they just stop responding completely?

Ohh, I couldn't say than. Maybe they have limited time, some of the gms I play under take a bit to get back to me.

Could also be they no longer are interested in that game, but aren't polite enough to let you know!

How would they no longer be interesting in the game but still running it?

I guess I misunderstood what they were not responding too, I thought you meant they were still posting in other games, something I've seen happen.

You might need to bump the responded to comment, query, post?

I have  had a few GMs   just flat out, go dark...when that happens , its 90% of the time , something bad has happedn, there is a Game on my list, the GM hasn't  been there for almost 2 years?..she was  having health issues..i hate to thing of why she stopped.

Now? if  you are in a game, and you posted..and aren't getting  any answers, even through there are posts popping up...Send a PM...give the GM a time frame to answer..if they don't  answer, they might  just not have the guts to tell you they don't want you in the game.

I have  used PMs  from both sides of the fence...as a plyer the GM is normally Busy..or has lost interest in the game, and just pops up now and then to  post with a friend...'just in case' they want to start back up...as a GM, if a player goes  dark, I will send  PMs   and wait, then cut them if they do not respond by the target date.

alla in all? this is a Hobby, a lot of  folks are here to 'try it out"..then get bored and move on.

Something to also keep in mind, especially in regards to GMs not responding to PMs - GMs get a lot of PM notifications, especially if the players in their game are super-active with PMs to each other.

Often times, they might have just missed it completely. I know that I have forgotten several PMs where I have multiples light up at once, and I check the dashboard for them... but don't have time to post, and then sometimes later forget which ones were new.

It happens. Sometimes it's just an accident.

Sometimes in games with fewer players, everybody ends up waiting on someone else which then results in no one posting.

I've also had occasions where it didn't show up as a new post or got forgotten or something along those lines. I try to always be the last post on a thread or to send a pm, but just the other day I went into a game for some setting info, and found that a player had posted a response and it somehow never showed up and I had spent months thinking the player abandoned the game.

I probably should run periodic checks I guess.

Well said GM deleted his game because "he couldn't get adult clearance due to a bug so he was leaving rpol".  I sent him a message asking was this really necessary for the game he was running (a heroes game) but haven't heard back.  I can only assume his other games were also deleted without warning.

You may wanna check the RPoL Chamber of Lost Souls and see if he was busted for rule-breaking.

CoLS is here: link to another game

However, if the GM had time to post that he was leaving RPoL, then he may not be listed there.  It sounds like he did something to get his "adult clearance" revoked, and quit the site in a hissy fit.

Seems so.  I feel so bad for the other players I have half a mind to pick up the game.

In reply to Sittingbull (msg # 1):

Ahhhh I had one RP here peter out.  It was very upsetting as I really was hoping to keep it going but soon after the GM left members started to go away too.

It was just such a different idea I still wish I could have kept it alive.
