Fill cup with milk. Heat. Add sugar to taste. Add instant coffee (choose your variety) to taste. Put money saved from Starbucks etc. in jar.

Oh I know people like you. You alienate customers and drive them to never come back to your store. This has long range consequences - Karma is a 'female dog with bad attitude' and has a special place for people like you. Mostly in giving you such grief back when your having such a bad day as those unfortunate customers you have dealt with.

It usually pays to be nice to people even if they are pissy, if you can get them to feel better about the situation instead of worse then the world is a small bit better place. Better Karma to.

LOL Yeah, paint ME as the bad guy. Granted, I admit I could have a more positive attitude with everyone. By that same token, so could everyone. After nearly 20 years in some form of retail, I am fed up with the people that come in and act like we're trash because of where we work. I am human. I pay bills and worry just as much as anyone where my next meal is coming from. So ya know what? Some times I am tired of being the better man. That's why me giving problem customers the same attitude the show me is a guilty pleasure, not a normal habit.

Re: Guilty Pleasures Confessions

I don't think despising coffee is much of a guilty pleasure or confession.  I've never liked it...and working the morning shift at a truck stop for a few years kind of built in a psychological aversion to the smell of it (because each customer that came to the counter with their morning cup meant it was that much sooner I had to go refresh the coffee-maker...usually when I had a line of eight or nine people waiting at the register...)

But, I will admit to half-and-halfing coffee with hot chocolate for a show I was in.  I tried just drinking the coffee for one rehearsal...by the time we were done that night, I thought I was going to be sick.  I'd have just done the cocoa, but they needed to have someone top off my 'coffee' cup in the scene.  So, the cup started half full of cocoa, and then she topped it off.  And that was actually pretty good.

I don't know that I really have a whole lot in the way of pleasures that I'm guilty about, though...most stuff I like, I'm pretty open about.

Re: Guilty Pleasures Confessions

I dunno about these guilty pleasures. If you're willing to share it with a whole group of people, some of whom, if not most, you barely know, do you really feel that guilty about them?

I have a few guilty pleasures, and they vary from telling absolutely no-one about them; to a rare few.

Re: Guilty Pleasures Confessions

In my case it's more like strange pleasures over guilty ones - I don't feel guilt about any pleasures I can get any more, the number seems to shrink from year to year as it is.

As a GM I find it amusing and entertaining to see games that I've put forth an RTJ, and denied, to falter and whither away as my post count soars past those games.

Yes I know it can happen to may game at any time...

In reply to OceanLake (msg # 1):

I often find myself looking over the Chamber of Lost Souls, especially the Pennies in the Power Points section, rereading it again and again. I swear, I almost get nostalgic when I see certain names, like when you think back on the vacation where absolutely everything went sideways, and remember how much you hated it at the time, but what a ride it was.

Guilty Pleasures Confessions

My biggest guilty pleasure is drama shows, specifically those shows like Gossip Girl something about watching over priveleged kids wine about their romantic woes makes me very happy.

One of my guiltiest pleasures, and there are so many, is listening to a kids radio station on my radio, and singing along to Disney and Muppet tunes.

I like to employ the Scotty Principle.

"When can I expect that needed part of the project?"

"Well, it's a bit tough, but I think a good aim would be seven days."

"... Can we try to make it 5 days?"

"I don't know, I'll do my best ... *suppresses evil laugh*"

Keeping soundboards on my phone, setting my phone's volume to REALLY REALLY REALLY low - and attaching the settings to a timer.  Then, playing them in weird parts of wherever I am at the most disturbing of opportunities.  Like right in the middle of someone telling a deja vu story or similar =)

Re: Guilty Pleasures Confessions

My reality shows - not behaving badly ones like Survivor, but Amazing Race (see the world and some of its strangest customs), So You Think You Can Dance (shirtless guys, but wish we still had the Canadian one), The Voice, Dancing with Stars (aka mostly who are these people?? but with interesting dances and lots of fringe, and yay for more shirtless guys!), and the especially guilty ones, America's Got Talent (many of them do, but I fast forward past the guy who can bring things up in a different order than he swallowed them), and American Idol (let's see how much we can make a variety of singers sound alike).

OK, I guess I should kill you all now that you know my darkest secrets.  ;-)

Re: Guilty Pleasures Confessions

After players guess or start to believe that a PC is really an NPC, going out and getting a player to actually play the NPC and thereby turn the NPC into a PC...which really throws the other players for a loop...and then turning it back into an NPC if the player leaves or wants a new character.

(And so the cycle continues.  I had one NPC/PC played by four different players, plus being NPC between players.)
