Some of you know me, most of you don't, but I have long considered most of you friends that I just haven't talked to yet.

It is for this reason that I am telling you all that as of about a week from now, you, the community that I have loved, fought for and with, and worked as hard as I can to expand, will be parting company for the next 14 years. I have a son, now 7 years old, and it has just finally been forcibly brought home to me that I am missing his childhood.

And what am I doing instead?

Playing games here with all of you.

Don't get me wrong, you are all great people, kind, loving, funny, supportive, and have seen me through some of my darkest hours, but my family, my son, MUST come first.

As the title of this thread says:

"To all the world, To all my friends, I love you all, but I must go."

For those of you whom I have been closest with, weep not, for I but undertake a long journey from which I intend to return. Slightly more than 14 years hence, in the dawning days of 2030, if I yet live, our civilization has not collapsed, and RPoL is still here, my intention is to rejoin you, but until then:

I agree with those above. I'm in much the same situation, I've limited myself to a game (or two) and only really log on to participate after they have gone to bed. This does mean that most of my games have to be slow posting. But it helps feed the addiction.

Stick with it. Do what you think is best, I routinely miss my Daughters Soccer games thanks to work and it basically kills be every time.

Sounds like you're making the right choice. I hope you're able to work out a positive work/life/recreation balance.
