Just trying to get a general feel for things....

Is all of RPoL slow, or just the dozen games I'm in? Some games seem to be down to a post or month or less.

While many of the games I'm in are much more active than you are experiencing, there can be seasonal slowdowns.  From my short personal experience (just a few years) Holiday season is usually slower going from Nov (Thanksgiving) thru Jan (New Years).  Some people may be more active in real life when the weather turns in the spring with lawn care, gardening, spring cleaning and such.  The summer might mean more outdoor activities, picnics, barbeques, swimming, family vacations, keeping busy with kids that are out of school.  Right now is graduation season.

I've noticed the slowdown this past weekend. Two or three posters haven't been as active as usual.

School is getting out or getting started, depending on what you're talking about, so that might be a factor.

Re: Just trying to get a general feel for things....

Some games do slow down this time of year and some games are just slow. Then again there are games that are faster paced (like the couple I run).

Personally I need a game that requires a higher post rate to hold my attention. I post frequently and if other players are always holding things up, I just have to move on. But that's me. The games I run are like that, I need my players to post three times a week or more, but then again that is clearly spelled out.

I don't mind slow games or fast games. As long as it's steady. One game I'm in gets about 10 posts a week and another 1K a week. But I love the stories and I almost never feel like I'm missing out because I'm in tune with about when players will post.

Wow Eggy, that sounds like a great game.

I agree Grimmond, not just keeping my attention, but I have a hard time remember who my character is if things get too slow.

My games have been slow for two to three months now in most cases. Sigh.

My own fault I guess for being limited in the systems I know, it limits the number of games I can even try to join.

It is! But not because of the speed. I love the slow game. Been with it for at least three years now. Slow and steady.
