Star Wars - HWK-290 Size

Something's been bugging me for ages. The HWK-290 is most famous as the Moldy Crow, Kyle Katarn's ship. It's pretty small, slightly larger than a Y-Wing fighter from the looks of it. I'd call it a heavy fighter, or maybe a light courier. The cockpit is so narrow, the seats are behind one another.

In all the established media I've seen outside the source material, it's considered a light freighter and is given either 75 tons or 150 tons of cargo capacity, depending on the specific stat block. This is around the size of the Millenium Falcon's cargo hold, which means the HWK-290 is either a Tardis or way bigger than it looks.

Personally, I think what happened is the ship looks cool and the guys statting it up wanted it to be a player home ship, much like light freighters tend to be, so made it big. I see three ways of addressing this. One is to ignore the expanded material and go by its size in game, making it a two-person courier ship/fighter. Or you could ignore the source material and go by the official stat blocks. The third idea, and what I've been toying with most in my head, is to call the smaller ship by one designation and the bigger ship by another. I've been thinking of just telling my players the cargo ship is the HWK-2900 while the courier/fighter is the HWK-290.

Seems a good day to bring it up. Any thoughts? :D
