How would WUSHU work on rpol?

In WUSHU you describe what your character does, then the game master awards you dice for the narrative, then you roll. How would you handle this on a forum like rpol?

No idea about the system mechanics, but if you care about speed, then obviously the GM just goes ahead and rolls for you.

Well I suppose that would speed things up considerably. But the victory narration can be tricky then.

Well, the GM could roll the dice and either
update your post with the dice results & bump the thread,
post the dice results only in his next post
or PM the results to you.

It doesn't sound any more of a pain than any other system, tbh. GM still needs to confirm *what* you're rolling or apply bonuses/penalties in other systems.

or you can assign them dice in a private message, let them roll, and then adjudicate the results just as you would face to face?

Or am I not understanding the problem here?

Re: How would WUSHU work on rpol?

The way my Wushu games have always gone, it was more or less on an honor system. GM defines a die cap for actions, and players then count up their own details. Usually a narrative will have well over the number of details needed to hit the die cap, so it isn't much of an issue. Just gotta make sure everyone's marking their details properly.

He leaps into the air, (1) spinning his blade around him (2) and slicing the incoming bullets in half before they can reach him. (3) The last bullet gets deflected back into the gun's barrel, (4) jamming it to give him time to move in for the kill. (5)

Ta da, five dice. If anyone vetos it, that gets resolved in the OOC and the post can be edited as necessary. There may be some issues involved, but possibly less so than a back and fourth between the player's post and GM replying, then player rolling. Especially since the player still needs to decide how many dice are Yin and how many are Yang. If the GM's rolling for them, that means they need to decide before they even know how many dice they were awarded. Could be an issue.
