The announcement needs to be more open and obvious. This little piece of text away from the focus of the site is not enough.
Maybe like a huge popup with cake and candles.
Or, a virus infesting all rpol users which replaces all files on their computer with a empty file simply named Happy 14th birthday RPoL.
Maybe, we go to news channels all over the world, and when people are watching TV:
BREAKING NEWS! VERY IMPORTANT! IF YOU DON'T LISTEN YOU ARE PRACTICALLY KILLING A BABY CHICK!
Reporter Susan: Bob... this can't be... I can't report this...
Reporter Bob: Susan... it must be done... this baby chick will die if you don't deliver the news...
Yes... but... it's too shocking for public ears...
This is our job. We must deliver the news.
Okay... *sniff*... the semi-famous website known as RolePlay onLine, usually abbreviated to rpol... started by the mysterious programmer jase and friends... before famously known for being famous vampire hunters... this website... just turned 14 today... *starts sobbing on public television*
It's okay Susan... now this baby chick won't die... you've done the world justice...
Susan was never to be seen again. Some say she ran away from depression.
That little tiny piece of text on the upper-right corner of the screen doesn't give this birthday justice. I barely noticed it when my eyes just wandered up towards the upper-right.
Happy birthday rpol.
