Cards in Dice Roller

So I'm a little curious about something that I've been wondering.

For the cards roller in the dice roller, if I roll 5 cards, and someone else rolls 26 cards and someone else rolls 26 cards, can we have duplicates? Also does the deck automatically shuffle, or is there a way to force it to shuffle? Just how good is it at letting you play a card game?

Re: Cards in Dice Roller

Pretty sure each "draw" is as if from a fresh deck.

So there's no way to do something like play a proper card game with each player being able to draw from the same "deck".

If I'm wrong I'd love for someone to correct me because being able to simulate a communal deck everyone can draw from until all 52 cards have been drawn would be handy for those systems that use it.

Re: Cards in Dice Roller

The roller does not keep a record of cards previously drawn.  So. as nauthiz says, you're drawing from a fresh deck each time.

There is, however, a way to run a card game with it, if you have a GM.  Simply have the GM draw all 52 cards, and every time a player draws a card the GM tells them the next one in sequence.

In reply to bigbadron (msg # 3):

Thanks, that's going to be the best way to use it for a game it seems.

Re: Cards in Dice Roller

It is possible to set the RNG to display what you rolled/drew, and so players can then reroll until they avoid a duplicate of something previously drawn.
