CDrom classic traveller

Anyone familiar with this FFE product...the original traveller stuff $35, +7 for upgrade....

I am a long term traveller geek nerd...are these CDs worth the buy....

Note: I have all the new Mongoose stuff, maybe 10 original LLBs and sadly T5 big black book of shortbread...

Re: CDrom classic traveller

Yes, the CDrom is good value, as long as you have a use for it.  Personally, while I own every version of Traveller (some of them multiple times), I only ever play the original.

So I own the Classic Traveller CDroms, and have no complaints regarding them.

Mind you, I also own Traveller 5 and have no issues with that (and was part of the playtest), so you might want to take that into account when considering my opinion on the CDrom.

Re: CDrom classic traveller

The CD's are a great purchase! I have all the ones that relate to CT, which is the only version I play. Although what I have left of my collection of hardcopy products is spotty, and I don't really use pdfs for gaming, still I have all the reference material I will ever need, and can print off bits for my game as necessary. I am so grateful to Marc Miller for making these available!

Also be aware that 'The Traveller Book' is available in print-on-demand in hardcover from Drivethru! If you're interested in running CT, they are incredibly nice to have!

Re: CDrom classic traveller

I'll add my recommendation. CT rules! (pun intended).
The CD is a great value reference material. Personally, I like to have the dead tree versions spread out around me, but the searchable pdfs on the CD are good, too, and easier to get hold of than the books these days.

Re: CDrom classic traveller

I strongly recommend the CDs too.  I have all the Classic Traveller CDs, which include the books from Paranoia Press, FASA and Judges Guild, and the Megatraveller and TNE CDs too.  It's really true about having all the reference material at your fingertips, including the Paranoia Press books which I thought I would never be able to find.

Mongoose rules!

However you can't go wrong as a reference source, the old adventures, a couple of unpublished ones and the Gamelords/FASA deckplans and adventures well worth it too.
