Even Half Life 3?  I'm a firm believer that Valve is waiting until its Steam Machine is out and in bunches of homes to release it.  Having a mega monstrous best seller like Half Life 3 that's exclusive to their new platform for a few months will really help cement the Steambox (or whatever you want to call it) and give it some staying power and a probably needed boost.

Re: Cursed games.

A pity Breath of Fire 3 was cursed for you. It was the only BoF I played and was EPIC!

I got part of the way through it then the girl broke up with me. lol cursed indeed.

In reply to Genghis the Hutt (msg # 2):
As much as I would like to, I have not really had a chance to play the half life series. If they make a third game in the series, I will not bother with it at all. I do not need to scrap my computer.

Re: Cursed games.

Super Mario 64 I completed, that was some fun times back in the day, though agreed Banjo Kazooie narked me something serious trying to finish that game, never did it.

Final Fantasy XII was a great game that I managed to get to complete (I spent about half hour watching my guys fight the last boss with only occasional take-overs to heal when their AI programming was missing it when needed), though a substantial change from X, which I do think was superior (and I'm debating whether to get that HD collection of it and X-2 when I own both on PS2 and spent sooo many hours grinding and finishing both).

Final fantasy 12 I made it to the end multiple times, and lsot my save for multiple reasons. mario I quit fairly far into because one time I gave it away because my little sister was so obsessed with it(tantrum ranking obsessed) Banjo kazooie kept locking up on me, and it was my exes anyway.

Each game has a history lol. Even if some share it.

For what its worth ff 12 was awesome. And I have personal history with it that stops me from playing it now anyway.

Re: Cursed games.

I had a problem with my GTA:San Andreas save. I completed that game 100% three times as it would corrupt for no reason whatsoever...

That was my problem with FF8 good game, but farthest I ever got was the spaceship. Usualy at the transition to disk three my save would get corrupted.

Re: Cursed games.

When I played MGS, the one on the PS1, it was on a PS2 first of all... Which doesn't do disc transitions... I'd take disc 1 out to put in disc 2 and once I did that it would alert me that I should put in disc 1 before disc 2... The console was stopping me completing the game :/

Still, it's included in the Legacy Collection on the PS3 now and in nice HD... So, no hard feelings over that.

Nice, MGS 2 and 3 almost made the list. I owned the game for years and never got around to playing them. They are listed as stolen right now. Since I never bothered to play them I felt they should not be added to it.

Although I agree the Half Life series is one of the best ever, haven't you heard that Steam doesn't know how to count to 3?  ;)

Example: Half Life and Half Life 2, followed by Half Life, Episode 0 and then by Episode 1.

Re: Cursed games.

I just remembered about Mass Effect... Even though 3 had it's detractors, alot of the plot-lines do get resolved and I'd hate to just leave my Shep on #2 and not see what happens to them and their story-lines with the other crew members...

Re: Cursed games.

Well, it's not technically a video game, but it sure as hell is cursed, and I'm sure plenty of other people would agree with me.

Pathfinder - Carrion Crown

Every time I've played the game or seen it hosted, ironically the token horror game in the AP spectrum for Pathfinder, it has lasted perhaps a week to a month before either the DM or all the players mysteriously disappear without a word. Spooky. Granted, that's par for the course for many games on RPOL, but the consistency with which it happens for that module alone is enough that my group of long-time players and I have begun not even calling it by it's name, lest we bring some taboo curse upon ourselves. The Ustalav Campaign will forever be unfinished...*eerie noises*

Re: Cursed games.

Hmm should I add.. was it called never winter nights, computer rpg based on dnd that was kinda like baulders gate but you had a party. Every time I tried to play it I never even got through character creation. I tried playing in the middle of the night, but I was dragged with my mom to the hospital for some reason I cannot remember.

Re: Cursed games.

When I first had my PS2 on the week of release I grabbed the snowboarding game, SSX... Thing kept crashing on certain courses so I could never complete it... But that was down to the Electronics Boutique (a chain long since passed) that was selling faulty and preowned games as new ones... >:/

The cases would be open and empty on the shelves (to stop shoplifting) and the discs were behind the counter, I wasn't the only one complaining about their PS2 games crashing there...

I'm almost positive that Saint's Row 2 is responsible for killing my last computer. Rip, you hunk of junk. At least you went out doing something fun.

I never got around to finishing FF8 myself.  Oh, I was there but just never could get around to it.   FF12 was easier for me than FF10.   On the other had, FF7 went in the trash when I hit disk 4 (IMO that game just sucked).

To be fair the nibeheim flash back is usually where I stop. Between that and regularly getting new games. But to be fair I remember legitimately beating the ruby weapon so its ok lol. But FF7 did make my honorable mention list.
