In reply to Charmedones (msg # 1):

I'm not sure what you're asking...

If you're asking if people will be interested, my guess is most likely (usually can drum up interest for any game).

If you're asking if your created game will be immediately available to join, the answer is 'it depends'.  In the GM menu there are a few settings that will determine that - "requesting players" is the big one.  Turn that off and no one will really be able to search for your game and it will show as full until you change it.  That way you can write up your intro, rules, and whatever else you want to set up before you open it to get players.

Re: Help GM

Yes.

If you create a game, anyone on RPOL will be able to immediately RTJ.

Re: Help GM

Yes, presuming they locate the game before you post in the Wanted:Players thread.

Re: Help GM

Anyone searching for a game (using the search games link on the main RPoL page) will be able to find your game, even if you turned off "requesting players", unless you hide it.  Don't list it under any categories, and list it under an obscure game system.  When you're ready to have people RTJ to your game, then change the game system back to whatever it really is and add categories.

Note: Don't let a game sit around without any interaction (posts from your or from players) for too long.  After 61 days, a game will pick up the "inactive" tag.  If it's had that tag for another month, it'll get moved to the Deleted section.  "If it has been there for at least one month (but usually considerably longer) and is not resurrected, it may be permanently deleted from the site."

That's not actually possible.  You have to select at least one category as part of the game creation process.

Re: Help GM

Well I created it and had someone tested it and they had the name but couldn't find it even by searching so whatever it had as the default makes it hidden.

Re: Help GM

That would probably be because you have the "new players" flag turned off (the default) and they were searching for games that have the flag turned on.

Re: Help GM

Charmedones, I found the game searching by GM Name and with the "Only active games requesting players" checkbox unchecked (default is checked).

When you are actively looking for players, you should turn Requesting New Players on via the GM Menu (I believe the default is off?)
Game Settings/Edit game details/Requesting New Players

Then you can also post in the Players Wanted thread.
