Re: Survey: Game of Thrones (TV)

Love it.

I got sick of the books after book 3. I'm no longer getting what was promised. But I've been really enjoying the show.

I heard it had x-rated parts, so I haven't ever watched it. :)

Like it.

Although I'm getting progressively more and more frustrated with it. The books are just better...

Re: Survey: Game of Thrones (TV)

Read the books. Liked them. Like them less as time goes on, and with the time between books.

Watch the show a year behind, as I don't have cable. Like it. It's a little overdone in some respects. Has the limitations any screen adaptation does when compared with the source novels. Would I do some things differently? Definitely.

It's a lot like Wheel of Time. More and more plot lines. Fewer and fewer of which are interesting.

Re: Survey: Game of Thrones (TV)

Like it.   And mean that specifically;   I'm not fanatically in love with it, as some are.

I haven't read the books, (may or may not) so my only exposure is the series.  I was very caught up in seasons 1 and 2, but have only watched sporadically, since.

That the story evolves and goes on regardless of who dies is pretty novel.  Different from knowing that "our hero" will surmount and live on, no matter what.   Albeit some characters, such as Ned Stark, strike me as being axed a little too soon.

Re: Survey: Game of Thrones (TV)

Not so novel anymore. JJ Abrams and Joss Whedon in particular like to have characters die, so the audience knows that no one is immortal.

Personally I can't stand that. But it's all a matter of taste. I stopped watching Revolution because they kept killing people off. To each his own. I hope this stage passes soon.

Dun dun - dun dun dun dun - dun dun dun~!

Man that song is cool.

I'm current with the series, and am working my way slowly through the books - I don't have a lot of time to kill reading.

My feelings exactly.

Don't watch it. Tried really hard to understand why so many people like the books, but it just didn't happen.

Like it.

Sort of like it.

Dislike it.

Didn't/don't watch it.

I Like It. My second favourite show (not counting old shows). Right after RuPaul's Drag Race. Lena Hedley was a guest judge on Drag Race couple weeks ago. And it was divine.

Re: Survey: Game of Thrones (TV)

I really like the show, but I watch it censored.  Like anything, it's out there on the internet if you look for it.  It is a deep story in a detail rich world.

Bottom line: Most engrossing show since 24 in my book.

Re: Survey: Game of Thrones (TV)

I don't watch it.

I started reading the books, decided they are for psychopaths and emotional masochists, and never want to go anywhere near it again. There is no up for anyone, and it's not a question of when a character will die horribly, so much as how much further they can fall into abject misery first.

They *are* very good books, and I'm sure it's a very good show, but I can't enjoy it.

I know :D the internet is very much my friend. Speaking of which, that's the only reason I didn't join in on the dragon lady debate here a while back. I was plenty satisfied.
