Currently, I'm in a game. You can be basically anything.

Right now we are going after a lich to destroy it.

We have:
Whisper Gnome Necromancer (Me. But I want to retire him)
Human Fighter-type (DM)
Half-Vampire Binder
Halfling Spellthief
Warforged Warblade

We got plenty of melee (2-3 people)

I pondered making a Archivist/Malconvoker, a Duskblade/Dragon Devottee/Dragon Disciple, Monk/Drunken Master but willing to get some other inputs.

Ideas?

Having a necromancer in a party going after a lich sounds perfect. A priest of an anti-undead faith would be similar.

I'd be inclined to keep the guy until the lich arc is completed. You can work with the GM to play pivotal roles in the fight against the lich's forces, and as part of 'retiring' him, perhaps he at the end he possibly dies trying to wrest the lich's power for himself or becomes a villain for the campaign and runs off somewhere.

A Kobold Samurai. He will probably die in the first encounter, but the fact that you said you played a kobold samurai will make you a legend.

Or maybe some sort of ranged specialist because you got melee covered.

Group has no arcane support. I could make another person. Rather not play the Gnome. He doesn't even want to go with the group.

a archivist/malconvoker could work.

Kobold Samurai? That would be funny. I'd use the Rokugain book. Hate the CW book for it.

Hmm. Ranged specialist....perhaps a Rogue/Wizard type?

Kobold Samurai? That's almost as odd of a combination as Gelatinous Cube Bard. But, seeing as I have seen that one done effectively one time, anything is possible.

 I think my favourite was the Gelatinous Cube wizard with a cow familiar wearing a snorkel... ^_^
