Ok, happy to cover that, offering him $2100 for three months, as well as the items above, under the understanding that any income he makes will contribute to cover the wages. Once wages are covered, he can keep half of his profits, with the other half going to cover his rent. Total cost for Kirpich up front: $9645.

There will be a bustling settlement around the tower in no time, if the rest of us can keep up with your spirit."

"Aye. Nothing makes things stronger to repel evil that strong trade, which invites strong defenders! Add to that the priesthood of Grom, and farmers will feel safe to return to farm the lands and see the tower as a place of good and protection once again. I expect we may have to expand our buildings to accommodate a smith though. I have the basic smithing tools here. I anticipate using one of the out-houses for him, both to live and to work."

OOC: Other than the stables, what structures surrounded the tower, including the walls that fences in the previous residents?

He comes out of the meeting hall and greets everyone.

I convinced Lord Perceval we needed a baliff to ensure the baron’s laws and intent are kept, I was summarily so appointed. He displays the ring.

So I am both Forest Ranger and bailiff now.

The tower and the attached stables plus the well made up the buildings on site;  The walls surround a yard large enough to have included a garden and an orchard at one point, but all of the area succumbed to the necromantic taint.

Cool. Now that the taint is gone, can we look at putting a garden back in? Also a small brick Outbuilding for the smithy? And a shrine to Grom?

Cost of building construction?

your shrine was going to be a henge and technically free just high energy cost.

a brick smithy 9x12 with a sloped wooden roof would cost about $15,000 as per Low tech companion 3, a wooden one with a brick fireplace more like
$1374 for the building plus $5891 for the fireplace and chimney - total $7266

This shit is costly!

I agree with Hennatti about a wooden smithy. I have about half what I need for a brick smithy. Given I have already purchased the tools and will cover half the building, anyone want a third share in the smithy?

OCC plenty of actual smithys I have seen have been in large wooden buildings.
Some cost (However you construct it) could be saved by building it onto the back of the stone walled stables.
