I'm still here too!

I had a last minute trip to my mother-in-law's wedding to attend and it resulted in a week of next to no connectivity.

I'm back trying to get caught up.

Apologies for not posting lately I have a condition that means I need weekly treatment at the hospital.... Sometimes it knocks me for 6 and the last two treatments did just that.... Today's treatment seems to go OK.... So I caught up and just posted :)

We are at the last hurdle of the first adventure. I will open the game for new requests to join, to replace players that dropped out.

On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday I will be travelling and I won't post.

Hi all, I'll be joining with an elven swordsmaster who's not quite as good as he thinks he is. :D I'm supposed to join in the second chapter, but I'm kind of waiting for an idea of just what the scene is before I try writing myself in.

I've deliberately avoided posting here as Sebastian wasnt officially part of the team put together by the adventurers guild at the start, and he joined partway in. As far as the Characters would know, he was just an innocent bystander caught up in a rat infestation.



He's breifly character following their escape, so the other characters might start suspecting something is a bit off.

I did have a cunning plan to reveal things in a slightly more interesting way, but then the building fell over.

Just in case this may help anyone, this is the Character sheet I use. It's an evolution of the one the GM gave, but the tables are more clear.

To use it, you just must copy and paste it and fill the parts where asterisks are (in many tables, only the first entry is asterisked). If some table must be ampliated (e.g. you have mroe gear or weapons than the slots given), just copy and paste the last emtpy line following it:

As the second adventure is now ongoing, I'm switching off the flag about requesting new players.
If everything will go to plan, I will switch the flag on again at the end of the second adventure, to find new players for the third adventure.

I edited my last post, as I have forgotten about Fernin (my appologies)

TLDR; I misunderstood the premise of the game and created a 'Face' character who is going to be completely useless when it comes to hacking through the wilderness or exploring dungeons. It's not fair to take up a place in the game with a character who will just be a spectator 99% of the time, so I'm bowing out.



When I joined the party already had a character with good Thief skills so rather than clash with the player by creating a better skilled Thief, instead I created a Face; the smooth talking con man who could not only bluff his way past the guards but convince them to help load the loot onto his stolen horse too. I purposely took Hindrances, Edges and Skills related to this and left things like fighting at bare minimum.

You can tell how well this worked by looking at the first adventure where Sebastian basically stood at the back defending himself and wasn't even in the same room come the climactic Boss battle. Granted, he was maintaining the fiction that he was a Sommelier and wasn't there on illicit business of his own, but if the party get into a fight what happened in that adventure is pretty much what's going to happen in the next.

He's not able to survive in the wilds, or in a dungeon, and in end-of-the-world circumstances like this he wouldn't be putting himself forward to go save it, he'd be schmoozing his way into the confidences of someone with enough resources to keep him relatively safe.

Now is probably a good time for him to depart; just say he went looking for somewhere to wash up and fell in a river and drowned or something.

Never think a character is useless just because an adventure or two were not what he was made for.

For what you say, last adventure was not Sebastian field, but who knows what will we need when we reach the town, or the next adventure? It would be a shame to needthen a character like Sebastian and missing him...

And don't forget improvements (given at the end of every adventure, if I understood it well) may help you to fine tune Sebastian.

If, regardless all of this, you keep so frustrated as to leave, I can only wish you the best, and better luck in other games.

On top of what Alice just said, if you don't feel good with your current character, you can always go for a new one. There is nothing wrong with that. And then maybe in the future you will pick up Sebastian again. This campaign allows it quite easily.
