Kirpich will heal the injured, and suggest they all head indoors quickly before more come.

As for why they were there, that is worth investigating...

In reply to Kirpich Rockson (msg # 48):

While the Stirges seem more inclined to lair near swampy areas like the flooded rice fields near the village, the presence of a predator seems to cause them to head further afield for sustanance.

You soon arrive at the gate of the tower! The gate is how you left it, and you notice that there seems to be a little life in the tangle of dead vines that cling to the wall.

"I interpret that as though we have completely removed the darkness that were in the tower," Balir says aloud - and rather confidently. "I will go in an ensure all is good." He strides into the tower without a care.

Being a dwarf, Balir doesn't care too much about green stuff, but he does recognize that life has clearly won over death. With his usual confidence he strides into the tower, while yelling "You know guys, as a dwarf I should probably take a basement room as my own, but sunlight sure does have it's charms in this tower," and strikes up a hearty laugh.
As he goes in he starts taking mental notes on what needs to be rebuild and how improvements can be made

OOC: To help rebuild this tower what skill(s) do I need and can I take a skill point there? I have Prospecting, but that seems to be about finding minerals, I considered Engineering but that is only about inventing tech and is TL5 only (it seems)

There is also the question of the grove(?) dedicated to Grom...best location?

Perhaps Balir would be better served with an Ally. I could make one up for him if requested...

SHe turns round to nab Aethul again. "Let's go choose our room." She wheels him away.

OOC: Actually I have no idea which/where would be the most suitable room. Aethul can choose if he wishes..

Aethul would like a room two or so levels up and with windows.  The top level has an entrance and stairs around the wall, which confuses me, as I thought that was was the second floor up from the ground. However no other floor has an entrance. A reasonable sized room on the floor above the entrance level or the one above that  with arrowslits or windows please. Now remember, Hannati is a woman so we will need plenty of storage and a place for her cosmetics in front of a mirror. Likely a small armoire for Aethul and two large ones fer my lovely intended.

Masonry and carpentry would be the skills for repairing the tower, hirelings could be got from Brouse.

the stairs wend upward from ground level to the third story above ground, and there is a basement level.
top floor was garrison and entry/audience hall;
level 2  from the top was the lord and lady (and some servant's) chambers,
level 3 from the top was servants
ground floor is hall and kitchens
basement was crypt and wine cellar/ storage

So, if A+H takes left room, Balir can take the right room (on the 2nd floor).
Do we need to start/end some more business here, or are we ready to talk to the new baron?

With the inner group only in attendance she says, "We shall leave the starmetal in place and not mention it to anyone else. We need to secure the promised deed and title to this tower as prmomised by the baron.Tthat needs to be our next task! it's been in abeyance for far too long."
