FYI:

quote:
rugged looking dwarf steeped in a stout lager called Old One Eye.

where "Old One Eye" is a lager (drink) sold in the inn, and the man who was making the statements is a "rugged looking dwarf"

Balgus downs the ale he swiped and looks toward a rugged looking dwarf,"Oi ye, ye look like tha strong an' punchable type. Wanna fight me?" the dwarf says, pointing at the rugged dwarf.

OOC: Oh yeah, that make sense, I'll just chalk it up as Balgus being too drunk to know who's who right know.

In reply to Balgus Brashhorn (msg # 53):

An "oops" look crosses the drunken old-timer as he turns to stare with bleary eyes at the one called Balgus Brashhorn.

The turn, and half belligerent step forward which has one foot stepping on the trailing white and grey streaked beard, sends him plunging face first to the floor.

The bumbling man tries several times to get up, but makes a mess of the job, and looks more like a fish flopping around on dry land.

Statler lifts his ale off the table as the rowdy dwarf slams his fist into it "na look here laddy...you spill my ale and it be the last thing you'll ever do!  Ya want to prove ur worth, go join the military, least ya'd actually learn howta fight.  Er at least go help that wee lass that just gave birth an can't find her husband...ya might run into a gnoll runt that could give ya a challenge!"

He then watches the old dwarf fall down and bursts out laughing "Now THAT is some good entertainment!  All that ale is too much for the ol bloke!  Beats a lousy fight anyday!"

Arbella fetches a sheet of paper. We'll see what we can do. Tell me how to get to your farm. I'll make a map.

Isobel mentions that the room should have curtained sections arranges so patients may either have privacy or companionship. Arbell replies Good idea. Will you please talk to your father (the innkeep) about this?
...
Arbella enters the commons room to see the ancient dwarf on the floor. She goes to one knee beside him and says Honorary grandfather, please may I help you up?
...
When she can, she asks Balgus Can you undertake to do a good deed, possibly dangerous, as well as you can fight?

@Balgus
“Ready for those spicy potatoes and maybe the cyclops keg? Maybe a few meat pies?”

He winks at Arabella
“Will I be well enough to give an assist?”

He holds up a hand to get the server to their table....

In reply to Arbella Elann (msg # 57):

Lilly is quite agreeable to describe how to get to the farm, and seems very relieved that you'd go to the trouble of having someone find her husband. She helps you draw the map.

Isobel hears your request and says she can have her father, (The stable master Wynn Dixie), ask Blaze, (The assistant innkeeper), if that can be arranged.

The blustering ancient dwarf blushes deeply when you help him up. He claims he's had too much of the "good stuff", and seems quite embarrassed. Sheepishly he apologizes to everyone, and states he'll retire to his room. You're not too sure if he'll be able to manage the task.

You could swear you hear The Keeper's chuckle resound in your head.

Arbella assists the ancient dwarf to his rest and tucks him in.

Before she goes, she tells Alton and Balgus the one or two more helpers would be welcome. Whoever, please talk to figure out how you best can work as a team.

When she returns, she explains the situation. I suspect accident or foul play. She shows the map. Something else you should know: I have expenses. That means I'll need to charge fees or just maybe rely on free-will offerings. I'll listen to your opinions about his...would listen to what you have to say in any case. Also, you are earning my good will.

He rests heavily on the table the spicy potatoes a delight paired with the dark lager...

“More rest would be helpful as well, but magical healing might get me up to snuff.”

Master Dwarf, you're not helping me out, you helping the mother of a new-born babe, She expected her husband to come to her, and he has not. If you go, I'll do my part; other than that, I have expenses. If I fail to meet them, meeting the likely need will be difficult. And I don't recall owing you a beer, but I'll stand you a spot of herbal tea.

She turns to Alton and touches him.

Dear Lord Pelor, please be sweet.
Heal Alton from head through feet.

CLW; Alton is healed; no need to roll.

She turns to the patron. What of you? Does your bravery match your way with words?

Arbella calls over a server. A pot or mountain tea, please, with three cups, spoons, and some honey. While they are drinking (if Alton and Balgus are), she says I'm no fighter, though I know how to use this jo stick. I also can utter Commands. Alton, I know you can scout and shoot. Balgus, you've proved to be a doughty fighter. What else do we three need to know about each other.

At some time, she says Alton, as you wish, we will work together doing healing. It may be I shall learn as well as teach.

Ironwort has been traditionally used to aid digestion, strengthen the immune system and suppress common cold, the flu and other viruses, allergies and shortness of breath, sinus congestion, even pain and mild anxiety.

Scientists have suggested that the popular pronouncement of ironwort as panacea may have some basis in fact. Studies indicate a positive effect on many common ailments.[12] Ironwort is known scientifically to be anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidant. Active elements include diterpenoid and flavonoids.[13] Significant research has been done on ironwort confirming its popular use to prevent colds, flu, and allergies. Most of this research has taken place in universities in the Netherlands and in Greece, Turkey, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Albania, where the plant is indigenous.[14]
