Docks usually have a place with stairs going to the water (for dingies or climbing out of the water), and a place for launching boats. Aoife will head to the stairs first, or the place for launching boats if there are no stairs.

Mancini goes along with them, looking around for a rope or something else to help Aoife.

Seeing Oly descending, Aoife will swim over to him with an idol in her mouth...

He will very carefully remove the idol from the mouth full of big sharp teeth and set it up on the landing, hoist himself out of the water and then hand or carry the damnable thing up onto the dock.

If there are no fishmen near enough to cause trouble, Aoife will resume her normal form and climb out once the idol is gone from her mouth...

with difficulty, Aoife climbs the ladder, as the rungs are a foot apart.  together you make it back to the dock, in tome to see Rafelo and Ardenas rowing in.

Ardenas's eyes widen in shock.

"Could that have been spreading disease to all the fish Rafaelo caught while it was down there?  And if so, could those have spread their contagion to those who eat the unusually large catch?"

He turns to Rafaelo.  "How long since you dropped that statue over side into the sea?  How many nets of fish since then?"

"I wouldn't have the faintest.  I'd guess it won't be as easy to putting it in a fire or breaking it with a hammer or sword, though.

He thought for a second. "If we can't figure out how to destroy it, we can always sell it to the Haedereum and move on to the next name on the list."

"It would be helpful, if you please, to tell me what, if anything, we know of its origins, history or anything else about its effects. For example, does it always affect everyone and eerything living in the same way? Has anything been noted to be immmune  or otherwise to respond differently? Howw long is it known to have been around and did anything in particular also occur at that time?" asks Jolinda before considering imploring for divine aid.
