"I will take point. I revel in a chance to run again." Knowing that she will need to be ready quickly, Dii removes herself to perform some "lightning round" calisthenics.

Sathras shrugs. "Then Sathras thinks we should move fast. If our magics can see evil flying boat, maybe evil flying boat can see us, too. Though maybe, Sathras thinks, sky-fire might keep them distracted. Sathras does not know." He frowns, shrugs, then nods vigorously. "Either way, Sathras thinks we should move now. Move quickly. Get to towers best as we can without evil sky-boat seeing us."

Re: Phandir 26

She pulls herself up onto her mount and begins to slide a bit sideways before righting herself.

"I'm ready to go now," she states.  "But someone will need to help guide my mount, my brain isn't capable of processing both locations at once without causing a headache."

She adjusts things on her saddle carefully, dark nimble fingers feeling the things to make sure they're all accounted for.

In reply to Shadow Seeking the Light (msg #682):

Dii pats Novo on the shoulder. "Sorry friend. Looks like you'll have to be brave with all of us." She smiles at him, then checking all her buckles and straps once more she picks up her bow and begins to head toward the direction of their destination.

OOC: "Dii Ahnah rolled 23 using 1d20+10. Scouting."

Novo
"There is quite a degree of difference between bravery and usefulness, my dear. However there isn't much difference between bravery and stupidity for many. Funny, isn't it?" Realizing that Dii didn't wait for his retort he turns his attention first to tethering her Aht-ra to his, and then to Shadow and her mount. "It seems that you need assistance whilest I need purpose. A grand marriage indeed. May I escort your mount while you gaze into the distance?"

Sathras nods almost absentmindedly. "Sathras say we travel like caravan." He lifts a scaly arm to point ad Dii and T'Vala. "Loud lady and desert-man go out front. Half a bow shot. So that... uhm." He tries to count on his fingers. "Four cart lengths?" He says with he hopes is a note of confidence. "Caravan put best wagon in middle." He turns in his saddle, lifting up on his feet in the stirrups to point at Shadow, Califax, and Novo. "Quiet lady, Magic man, and Magic Sky man. That be them. In middle." He lowers himself slightly, his tail curling over the side of the aht-ra. "Murron and me go in front. White soldier and rough soldier in back." He points at Aaban and Burikan.

"Quite the scholar and tactician," she replies to Sathras' idea.  "I have no ideas, this is not my forte.  I'll be watching for you all."

Her eyes open again, the clear blue of the sky with the odd cloud drifting across them and the faint reflection of the suns.  She looks at the assembled in turns before closing her eyes again, one hand reaching up and grabbing the cloth bound purple crystal around her neck.

Murron secures his gear and moves his aht-ra to join Sathras in front of the larger group. He has a grim yet resolved look on his face. He has his shield stowed on his back and his shortbow out, an arrow set on the bowstring for quick action if need be.

T'Vala likewise stows his gear and mounts up on his aht-ra. His hurlant is in his hands and ready for action. He rides up behind Dii and looks down at her with a chuckle; "I'll let you take the lead since you are a smaller target. I'd join you on the sands but I would never be able to keep up without my aht-ra. Let us hope we can find the easiest path to the towers that avoids any of the walking dead."

Re: Phandir 26

With the makeshift camp broken down and everyone either mounted or on foot the group begins to make its way in the direction of Anasa, following behind Dii and T'Vala. The suns are well on the way towards setting, and with about 9 miles remaining to reach the outskirts of Anasa Dii guesses it will be about 4 hours for the group to reach the towers. This of course is barring anything that may come up to slow the group. At the guessed time the group would be reaching the towers just at darkfall.

OOC: Shadow, if you are doing castings of your spell please do so. Make sure you keep track of partial successes or failures for spell fatigue. I am guessing you will be casting the spell judiciously as casting every 5 minutes would be 48 castings. Twice per hour perhaps?

Re: Phandir 26

"Sathras is a wise tactician, indeed," Aaban nods.  "I would consider that we not put Dii and T'Vala so far ahead, only ten or twenty yards; far enough for their eyes to spot any traps, but not so far that we cannot immediately aid them should there be an ambush, as happened with the sand demons.  I'd suggest of the main party, Burikan, Califax, and I lead with our crossbows, to cover the scouts.  I'll take the left, since I carry a shield, Burikan the right, and Califax the middle.  I believe Sathras placement of the middle is good, Novo leading Shadow.  I would place Murron and Sathras as our rear guard; Murron has a bow, and if we should be attacked unawares from behind, Sathras strength would hold the enemy until the rest of us could turn to aid them."

He gazes at the others for their thoughts as he mounts his aht-ra.

Sathras nods, shrugging. "White-metal warrior probably has right thinking. Sathras no know much these things. Sathras mainly good at carrying heavy things." With that he'll rein in his aht-ra and wait for the others to pass by, taking up a position at the rear of the caravan. While he waits for the others to pass, he lifts his head and sniffs the wind.

Re: Phandir 26

OOC: "Dii Ahnah rolled 17 using 1d20+3. Cartography."

Although Dii hears once again the inviting aria of the traveling wind, she remembers to keep her senses more focused to the current task. She knows that she is capable of higher and more fulfilling speeds, but the still haunting memory of being caught away from the group by Sand Demons rings in the back of her mind. She synchronizes the locale as it passes with the recalled details of the map she studied at the last encampment. It should take about 3 or 4 hours to get near the outpost towers, barring no further incident...

OOC: "Dii Ahnah rolled 14 using 1d20+3. Stealth +8 (-5) = +3."

Realizing that there is no need for top speed, Dii begins to consider and strategize maneuvering in a way as to become less "presented"...

After riding with clear eyes, she begins casting away, murmuring while holding the purple crystal that is wrapped in string and hanging from her neck.  Soon, her eyes close and when they reopen for a moment, they're covered with what looks like the cool blue desert sky above.
Her lips twitch and she closes her eyes, her mind reaching out to the miles around them, carried by the wind.

Riding within the group Califax scans the area around them, as the city gets closer he was starting to feel slightly nervous.  It was always the case when the goal came into sight.
