Re: Savage

 Ahhhhhh, pets.

 *Flips to the previous chapter*

Mmmm, Krenshar are 500gp/500gp to buy young and train... Otyugh's 2,000/1,500

It's a mundane animal without special powers so you're probably not looking at more than a couple of hundred each way, modified for import costs if you're from somewhere they don't have that sort of thing, and you'll need Handle Animal yourself to get the best out of it.

Actual cost would be set by the GM mind.

 Oh and:

'Creatures with more than 1 HD (especially carnivores) continually struggle with their owners for dominance'

 and

Pets and Animal Companions A pet is less useful and less reliable than a druid or ranger's animal companion. A pet must be trained with the Handle Animal skill to accomplish even the simplest tasks. A pet also does not feel the deep loyalty toward its owner that an animal companion does. When threatened, a pet must make a Will save (DC 15). If it fails, the pet ignores any training and flees.

Re: Savage

Though if you have a particularly cruel GM he may simply consider that a euphemism for morale failure. and have the lion attack even though it was only the kings favorite mistress on a very quiet horse that startled it.

      Aaah, Plot hooks.

Re: Arena!

Just a reminder we have arena fighting in ROA. Friendly fights to the death against each other, or against the occasional monster. Please feel free to join.

How is the summer treating every one so far?

Me, The excessive heat of Arizona, you know, 120 temperatures and all that, is killing my car.  Poor thing keeps in having to go to the shop.

I'm from Arizona, so the cooking an egg thing is common here.  Well at least on the sidewalk.

It's winter here in Australia, so it's cold. So cold, in fact, that some mornings it even gets down to 0 degrees Celsius! ;)

Re: Arena!

The East Coast of the US is getting blasted by heat and humidity.  Today its supposed to be about 100 F(~38 C) with a heat index a good 5 - 10 degrees higher (~43C).

So I would gladly trade for 0 C right about now...  But then I like the cold and HATE the heat.

I'm in the north of Sweden right now: pleasant 20-25 C during the days and cooler at night. Sunny days with clear blue skies and plenty of fish in the lakes and streams. Life as it should be!

Re: Arena!

Cold rain can be a very dismal thing...  but rain at a moderate tempurature isn't bad.  Besides does it really "Rain" a lot or does it sprinkle a little bit throughout the day?

Big rain storm here has cooled things down a bit, hopefully lower humidity will make life around here livable again.

Re: Arena!

It was a constant downpour, interspersed with more intense raining, throughout the day and night. Looks like it's starting again. Should be letting up though, since they've promised sunshine again tomorrow.

Re: Arena!

I almost ran my first tabletop game last night, a one-shot using the Doctor Who - Adventures In Time And Space system. I was rather nervous about it, but I'd prepared as best as I could, and brought along some props: a sonic screwdriver, an old toy ray gun, even a Judoon helmet my family went and bought me for my birthday once (grr). I had two players interested, they made their characters, then went away on something else. But when they got back they were too tired for it (this was after 10pm in all-night gathering of games and movies*). So, didn't happen. I'm not sure whether to be disappointed or relieved. :)

In the end, I played in my first World Of Darkness game, in Hunter - The Vigil. For a horror RPG, it soon became an outright comedy. :D

Never did Hunter the Vigil.  But to be fair, I am anti-nWoD garbage.  >:[
